Based on Experience
The Homemaker performs the combined duties of dining services, activities, housekeeping and laundry. Assists with serving residents meals, snacks and nourishments. Plans and facilitates activities for elders and the household. Assists elders with caring for their clothing, including mending, washing, sorting, ironing and folding. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and neatness of household surroundings. The Homemaker supports the household caregiver in planning and facilitating social activities for residents of the household which provide meaningful ways to spend time as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun. Per diem positions available, with focus in Dining Services or Housekeeping.
Food handling certification (ServeSafe or equivalent) essential, or ability to obtain. Successful completion of Feeding Assistant Training or ability to obtain within 120 days. Completion of cross training for household housekeeping, household laundry, household activities and dining services essential. Competency testing is essential. Able to operate department specific equipment and use cleaning products appropriately. Will comply with all federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain as appropriate.
High School diploma or GED desirable, but not essential.
