Best Time to Move to a CCRC- We explain!
September 14, 2018
For many older adults who currently live independently but also like the idea of living where activities are abundant and healthcare services are available, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) like Piedmont Crossing can be the perfect solution.
When is the best time to make the move? There is no correct or perfect answer to this question because everyone's situation will be different. However, waiting too long can mean missing out on some of the very reasons people are attracted to CCRC's in the first place.
If you feel that a continuing care retirement community is right for you, here are a few reasons why you may want to consider moving sooner rather than later.
Services- Most CCRC's have numerous services to keep you living independently like housekeeping, home care, home maintenance/repair, dining options, etc.
Activity- Get involved! Typically, CCRC's have plenty to keep you busy. With CCRC living, there are always friends around to keep you company too.
Wellness- Take advantage of the wellness opportunities that are at CCRC's. Many offer fitness classes and have fitness centers to you in shape. With regular exercise, you may even live longer.
Transition- It's much easier to pack and unpack now rather than wait until an emergency arises. Use the time now to get your thoughts and wishes planned out. Then, take action.
