Piedmont Crossing to Host Advance Directives Presentation

May 25, 2018

Piedmont Crossing, a continuing care community in Thomasville, will partner with Dr. Sue Auffinger, MD, CMD with Physicians Eldercare to offer a program on Advanced Directives.

An advance health care directive is a legal document that tells your doctor your wishes about your health care. Do you have a living will? Health Care Power of Attorney? You have the right to control your medical treatment as long as you are mentally able to do so. Advanced directives are a way for you to give consent or appoint someone to make decisions for you if you cannot do so yourself. An advance directive gives you a better chance of having your wishes carried out, even if you are unable to talk to the doctors about what you want.
