Piedmont Crossing to Host Monet Presentation

July 15, 2019

Piedmont Crossing is excited to welcome presenter Carl Shatley on Tuesday, July 23 at 2pm for a presentation on world renowned artist Claude Monet. The program will take place on the campus of the retirement community.

From 1866 to 1874, every week at Paris’ Café Guerbois a group of artists, writers, and art lovers gathered to discuss their ideas about modern art. Carl Shatley will take guests back to that time period where he will discuss the friends of Claude Monet and examine how influential the friends were in molding the works of Monet and his contemporaries into the world famous artists they would later become.

Shatley is an accomplished educator, lecturer, and artist who holds a Master of Arts degree from Duke University in History and Bachelor of Arts in art from Greensboro College.
