Piedmont Crossing to Host Personal Safety Presentation
February 19, 2018
Piedmont Crossing, a senior living community in Thomasville, will host presenter Richie Simmons on Tuesday, February 27 at 2pm for an educational program on personal safety.
Everyday activities like driving, going to work, or walking down the street include some risk to your personal safety. Either through crime or circumstance, people and events can be unpredictable. Criminals focus on the opportunity to attack. This presentation will empower participants to identify actual versus perceived safety risks. Participants will learn what an assailant is looking for and how to avoid being a target through awareness skills, body language, and using one’s voice.
Richie Simmons, a retired law enforcement officer, has a passion for protecting the people of Davidson County. As a 24-year career veteran in law enforcement, Simmons knows the need to inform all citizens on personal protection. Since his retirement, Simmons has been actively training and instructing groups regarding drug trafficking and personal safety, as well as leading churches and businesses in implementing security teams.
