Piedmont Crossing Picture Goes Viral

February 3, 2016

Last week, Piedmont Crossing employee Beth Rhodes captured a photo of residents doing the Cam Newton "dab". It was posted on our social media page. Within 24 hours, the photo was liked and shared thousands of times. The photo and story was shared by outlets like ESPN, Sport Illustrated, Good Morning America, and others. Needless to say, the photo got national attention.

The Facebook page read: "Carolina Panthers fans come in all ages. Residents at Piedmont Crossing retirement community in Thomasville, North Carolina are thrilled about the successful season the Panthers have had.

They wanted to show their support for the team. ‪#‎keeppounding‬ ‪#‎keeppoundingpanthers

A Pre-Super Bowl is Planned for this Friday, February 5 at 2pm EST. Thanks to It's Never 2 Late.

Oh this is gonna be fun! We have a #Superbowl50showdown going on between Piedmont Crossings in NC (supporting the Panthers) and Anthem Memory Care’s Chelsea Place in CO (supporting the Broncos.) Using #iN2L Friday at 2:30 p.m. EST, a Skype session will begin and both communities will show off special routines to support their teams. Our Jason Sanchez will even be joining the Pre-Bowl Party from the site of Super Bowl 50. The communities have each wagered the following: If Carolina wins, Chelsea Place will send a cook to make Denver omelets for their rivals. If Denver wins, Piedmont Crossings will send Carolina BBQ and all the fixins to their opposing competitors. Additionally, whichever community shows the best team spirit will receive a special prize from iN2L. Let the games begin!

Go Panthers!!!!!
