Piedmont Crossing to Welcome Nashville Artist Wyatt

May 11, 2018

Piedmont Crossing is excited to welcome performer Wyatt Easterling on Tuesday, May 15 at 2pm. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held on the campus of the retirement community.

Chapel Hill native Easterling made his mark in Nashville as producer, songwriter and session musician, and as head of A & R for Atlantic Records. Easterling’s career has been full of chart-topping songs including cuts with Dierks Bentley, Joe Diffie, Billy Joe Royal, Paul Thorn, Neal McCody, Sons of the Desert, and Robby Hecht. Easterling’s recent album, Divining Rod, was ranked as the number 5 Top Folk Album last year in an online folk forum.

Wyatt was inspired by music in the coffeehouse scene and recorded his first album in 1981. His dream of becoming a folk singer and songwriter took him to Nashville, where after writing for publishing companies in the early years, he was recruited as the head of A & R. There, he signed and produced many top-selling albums with artists ranging from John Michael Montgomery to Michael Johnson. After rising to the top as a Music Row executive, he opened his own publishing company, where he signed now-country great Keith Urban, getting him his first record deal.
