January 21, 2019
Piedmont Crossing is pleased to announce that employee Blair White has successfully completed the rigorous educational requirements necessary to earn her designation as a Certified Senior Advisor®.
White serves as marketing director for the Thomasville retirement community working with many area older adults and their families. Certified Senior Advisors® are professionals who specialize in applying multifaceted knowledge to concerns and issues specific to seniors and aging adults. The Certified Senior Advisor® designation is granted to applicants who completed the required courses of study, approximately 60 hours’ worth, and take a closed book, 150 question exam. In addition, the applicant must complete an assigned exam focused around ethics and professional responsibility. All requirements are governed by the Certified Senior Advisor® board.
“As a professional in the senior living industry, I feel it’s important to be aware of the diverse needs of older adults,” shared White. “Through this experience, I have gained knowledge that will allow me to recognize and address the issues facing our aging population.”
Doug Russell, executive director at Piedmont Crossing, shared that White will integrate the skills gained through the Certified Senior Advisor® designation and her day-to-day work experience to help seniors navigate through health, social, and financial issues.
