More than 30 years ago, Sue Wilber (left) and Marcia Hoffmann became friends. They even kept the friendship going long-distance after Marcia and her husband, Jeff (right), moved to Piedmont Crossing. Sue visited a number of times, and the two women had talked frequently about Sue retiring to Piedmont as well, but the timing just wasn't right – until recently. This past weekend, after retiring from the banking industry, Sue moved to NC from Connecticut with her two fur babies! Now, the close friends can spend time together as often as they choose, and lunches at the Bistro can be commonplace, not special-occasion. Marcia and Sue are over the moon with excitement, and the sense of community at Piedmont Crossing just got a little stronger and deeper! #piedmontcrossing #retirementcommunity #thomasvillenc #friendsforlife #reunitedagain ... Our residents love giving back to the community, and one of their longtime partnerships has been with Cooperative Community Ministry. As a nonprofit, CCM ensures that Davidson County residents in challenging situations have food, water, shelter, and clothing. For many years, Piedmont Crossing residents have volunteered for CCM by making meals for people in need. They get together monthly to prepare food items, especially sandwiches (like bologna and cheese!) and cookies, and to collect plastic bags for packaging foods. They're faithful in their service! #piedmontcrossing #davidsoncountync #volunteering #communitysupport #helpingothers ... See MoreSee Less
