COVID-19 Update from our CEO, Lee Syria
April 7, 2020
Residents and Family members:
We continue to do all we can to minimize the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19). At this time we do not have any confirmed or presumed cases of COVID-19 at any UCHS location. We are following the guidance of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, and state regulatory guidelines. Caring for your loved one and protecting all whom we serve and our team members is of utmost importance.
Your understanding during this ever-changing environment is appreciated. We are committed to keeping you up-to-date with all pertinent information. Please check our website periodically for NEWS updates.
-All individuals have been ordered by the State to stay at home, in their place of residence. Travel should only be for essential circumstances. To minimize the risk to our residents and staff, we will have a person at the entrance of our campus who will be stopping each vehicle leaving and returning to our campus. Family members may drop off items at the entry point. No contracted staff from outside are allowed on campus unless deemed essential by the Executive Order as required for care. This restriction includes private contracted housekeepers for individual residences as they are not deemed essential under the Executive Order.
-Arrangement have been made within the community for residents to order and pick-up groceries and medications without leaving the premises.
-As the pandemic continues to impact the United States, phone scammers have seized the opportunity to prey on consumers. The FCC has received reports of scam and hoax text message campaigns and scam robo-calls offering free home testing kits, promoting bogus cures, selling health insurance, and preying on virus-related fears. Please do not give personal information over the phone or Internet.
-UCHS is seeking homemade masks to give to more than 2000 elders that we serve. If you have friends or family that are blessed with sewing skills, we would welcome the donation.
-The UCHS Foundation Employee Assistance Fund provides support to team members who may face a financial hardship. In addition, the fund will be used temporarily to supplement team gratitude initiatives during the pandemic. Thank you for your patience during these changing times. Please send prayers for safety and well-being of our residents and team members
