November 12, 2015
Fellow colleagues, residents and their family members gathered Tuesday to honor Daphne Jenkins, a certified nursing assistant at Piedmont Crossing retirement community. The North Carolina Health Care Facility Association recognized Jenkins as a Fabulous 50 recipient. The Fabulous 50 awards program is an important part of the long term care community’s efforts to recognize the extraordinary contributions of all front-line staff to the quality of care and quality of life of individuals in healthcare centers.
Each recipient receives an appreciation plaque signed by Governor Pat McCrory. Jan Briggs, Director of Nursing at Piedmont Crossing is quick to tell you why Jenkins is so deserving to be selected as a Fabulous 50 recipient. “Her positive energy and contagious smile instantly brightens a room,” shared Briggs. “I often receive comments from family members thanking me for allowing Daphne to care for their loved one. She takes care of all of the residents as though they were her own and gives her all for the good of those she serves.”
“Working with seniors is my ministry, a calling I try to make evident each and every day,” shared Jenkins. “I strongly believe my work chose me and there is no other job that would give me the same fulfillment. What a blessing it is to love what you do!”
