Piedmont Crossing to Host Blood Drive

May 17, 2019

Piedmont Crossing is encouraging people to consider donating blood in hopes of maintaining a sufficient blood supply for the area during the summer months when donations decrease. The blood drive is scheduled for Monday, May 20 from 1:00-4:00pm on the campus of Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville. All donors will receive a complimentary shirt.

Summer is typically a crucial month for blood donations since many people are on vacation and school drives don’t occur in the summer months. In combination, this can cause a shortage.

The blood drive at Piedmont Crossing is being conducted by OneBlood, formerly Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC), the primary blood supplier to the regions patients and hospitals. “Piedmont Crossing is proud to partner with CBCC to conduct this crucial summer drive. It is important for each donor to know that their donation can directly impact the lives of three individuals,” said Shaylyn Ladd, director of community engagement at Piedmont Crossing.

Donors should be healthy adults 17 and older who weigh more than 110 pounds. Prior to donating, those giving must present official photo identification. To register or for more information about the drive, email Shaylyn Ladd at [email protected] or show up at the drive.
