Series at Piedmont Crossing to Focus on Graceful Aging
January 12, 2018
Piedmont Crossing will offer a 3-program series on how to age gracefully. The sessions will be held January 17, 24, and 31. Each session will begin at 3:30pm and take place on the campus of the retirement community.
Certified in evidence-based health and prevention programs through the NC Baptist Aging Ministry, Samantha Allred will lead each session.
The session on January 17 will focus on the emotional and physical health benefits of laughter. In a recent study conducted by researchers from Loma Linda University in California, laughter was proven to reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiac health.
The interactive session on January 24 is based on principles from “The Five Love Languages” by Dr. Gary Chapman. In “The Five Love Languages for Caregivers,” participants will learn their own primary and secondary love languages.
On January 31 participants will learn ways to de-stress their lives, how faith and humor can help, as well as practical solutions for a better night’s sleep in the final session, “Reducing Stress in the Golden Years.”
